Congratulations to Saishrihan Julakanty and Kamryn Ballard who will both represent Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools at the regional spelling bee at the Bank of America Stadium in March.

Both students spelled against several of their peers during the district spelling bee competition on Jan.21 at the Mint Museum Randolph. Julakanty, a seventh grader at Randolph Middle School, spelled the championship word: SCRIBBLATIVE. Ballard is a sixth grader at the North Academy of World Languages.

The regional spelling bee is hosted by the Carolina Panthers and is part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
